Volunteers at The Big Event

Volunteers from hundreds of student organizations at UNT will perform hours of service in Denton County and surrounding cities. Service projects include gardening, cleaning, painting, working with senior citizens and assisting children at local schools and development centers.

"The Big Event is the perfect opportunity for UNT students, staff and alumni to start their commitment to volunteerism by supporting their local community," said Amy Simon, Director at UNT's Center for Leadership and Service. "We hope that events such as The Big Event are a tradition of service at UNT and in the Denton community."

The event is coordinated by UNT's Center for Leadership and Service. The Big Event started at Texas A&M University in 1982 and has expanded to more than 70 universities and colleges across the country.
